Karganoff published his Album Lyrique around 1890. It contains 12 pieces for piano solo, beginning with and "Adieu" in D-flat-major. The pieces are very romantic and "lyrical" in the sense that they have beautiful melodies and are often very emotional. It is not known whether Karganoff knew the famous "Lyrical Pieces" by Edvard Grieg, which were composed earlier, but it's likely. Maybe his compositions were inspired by Edvard Grieg's.
